VOLUNTEERS
Where do you fit?
Coaches train athletes in specific sports.
Special Olympics Delaware offers coaches training and certification.
Teams train seasonal for 1-2 hours per week for 8-10 weeks.
Head Coaches must be age 18+.
Assistant coaches must be age 16+.
Class A Certification is required.
Team Volunteers assist coaches at weekly practice sessions.
Roles may include uniforms, attendance, set-up/clean-up, assisting with athletes.

Unified partners train and compete with Special Olympic athletes of similar age and skill ability.
Teams train seasonal for 1-2 hours per week for 8-10 weeks.

Partners under age 18 complete a youth volunteer application.
Partners age 18+ complete a Class A Certification.
Event Volunteers are needed at sport competitions and fundraising events. Volunteers perform such roles as selling souvenirs, checking in registrants, assisting with timing and scoring, etc.

Medical Volunteers provide basic first aid at sport competitions and fundraising events.
Volunteers must have a medical background (MD, RN, EMT, etc.)
