Dover Air Force Base hosts the annual Cycling Classic, held in late September or early October at the DAFB Museum, located off Route 9 on the south side of the base.
Delaware cyclists are joined by athletes from around the region to compete in races ranging from 500 meters to 20 kilometers, including tandems at certain distances.
The event is sponsored by Velo Amis, First State Velo Sport and White Clay Bicycle Club.
The date for 2018 has not been announced.

History and Facts
The Dover Air Force Base began hosting the cycling event in 2009. Prior to that it was held at the Lum's Pond State Park campground.
Cycling was first offered at the 1987 Special Olympics Summer World Games in Indiana.
In 2010, more than 90,000 athletes competed in cycling worldwide.
