History and Facts
- Delaware has been attending Pennsylvania's Winter Games since 2011. Prior to that the winter ski team competed in Maryland from 2006-2010, New Jersey during the late 1990s and early 2000s, and Pennsylvania before that. In 2016, due to poor training conditions in Delaware in January, the winter sports team competed at the Connecticut Winter Games.
- In 2007, over 23,000 athletes competed in snowshoeing, 41,000 in cross-country skiing, and 20,000 in alpine skiing worldwide.
- Prior to competing, all three winter teams traing for several weeks on snow and through dryland training exercises.
