Equestrian Competition

Carousel Park and Equestrian Center hosts the annual Equestrian Competition, typically held on a Saturday in late September.

The Carousel staff puts on an event to remember, providing our riders with a first-class competition venue from stable to rink to awards area.

A local 4-H club hosts fun and educational activities for riders and families to visit in between events, and a picnic lunch is served by the Wilmington Manor Lions Club.

History and Facts

Equestrian was first introduced at the 1987 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Indiana, when 38 riders competed.
In 2007, over 21,000 athletes competed in equestrian worldwide.
Over 50 riders from the TRAC Program at Carousel and C-Line Stables participated in the 2011 event.

Family Information

Lunch will be available for a nominal fee.
Spectator seating will be provided. For safety reasons, spectators will not be allowed in the stable or rink area. We appreciate you following the directional signs.
