Delaware Youth Activation Committee (YAC)

Our state-level Youth Activation Committee has representatives from many high schools and colleges statewide. Members of the committee work together over the course of the year to develop strategies promoting school communities where all young people are advocates of change to embrace a culture of respect at their schools.

Special Olympics Delaware engages in several Project UNIFY events that seek student leadership and involvement. Our youth committee plays a vital role in planning for and participating in these events, which include:

- the annual Project UNIFY student leadership conference
- Spread the Word to End the R-word
- school participation in the Polar Bear Plunge
- Fans in the Stans at Summer Games
- volunteering for various Special Olympics sporting events
- Project UNIFY summer camp
