As part of its Athlete Leadership Program, Special Olympics Delaware has developed an athlete self-improvement class which focuses on communication and social behavior.

Communication is one of a person’s most essential life skills. The ability to effectively communicate with others, whether it is with family, friends or colleagues, is the cornerstone to developing a new sense of self-belief and self-assurance that can lead to greater personal growth.

Conducted by members of Toastmasters - the world leader in communication and leadership development - athletes learn how to put their best foot forward in a variety of social situations.
