U of D Swim Teams Volunteer at Aquatics Event
Members of the U of D swim teams volunteer at the aquatics trials on Saturday.
The University of Delaware men's and women's swim teams came out to lend a hand on Saturday at the Carpenter Sports Building's Harry W. Rawstrom Natatorium.
Over 30 Special Olympics Delaware swimmers participated in the annaul Aquatics Time Trials. It was an opportunity for the Special Olympics athletes to swim in a competitive-type atmosphere leading up to their competition at the 2008 Summer Games, to be held on June 13th and 14th at the U of D outdoor pool.
For the U of D swimmers, it was an opportunity to interact and share their experiences as competitive swimmers with the athletes.
This is one of several examples of the university's athletic teams volunteering for Special Olympics Delaware.
