Endo Pharmaceuticals Sponsors Healthy Athletes Year-round
Endo Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical company with an established leadership in pain management, has joined Special Olympics Delaware as a year-round corporate partner. The company’s financial commitment will be directed toward enhancing SODE’s Healthy Athletes initiative.
The mission of Healthy Athletes is to improve, through better health and fitness, each athlete’s ability to train and compete in Special Olympics.
Components of the program may include screenings, health education, activities and/or personal and preventive products to enhance the sports training and, ultimately, the lives of all Special Olympics athletes.
Special Olympics Delaware offers four of the international Healthy Athletes components (Fit Feet, Healthy Hearing, Opening Eyes and Special Smiles), as well as additional locally-supported initiatives that focus on injury prevention and flexibility, nutrition, skin protection and health promotion, and being tobacco free.
Screenings and tests are currently offered as part of Olympic Village at the Basketball, Fall Sports Festival and Summer Games events.
