Along with quality year-round sports training and athletic competition, Special Olympics Delaware also offers additional programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Athlete Leadership
Encourages and supports athletes in their quest to participate in decision-making roles within the organization and in their everyday lives.

Healthy Athletes Program
Strives to improve, through better health and fitness, each athlete’s ability to train and compete in Special Olympics by providing health screenings and education.

Motor Activity Training Program
Designed for persons with severe limitations who do not yet possess the physical and/or behavioral skills necessary to participate in official Special Olympics sports.

Young Athletes
An innovative sports play program for children, ages 2 through 7, consisting of developmentally appropriate activities designed specifically for young children with intellectual disabilities and their peers, and their family members.

Project UNIFY
The goal of Project UNIFY is to activate youth around the country in an effort to develop school communities where all young people are agents of change.
Summer Camp
An unforgettable three-day experience that includes swimming, fishing and crabbing, arts & crafts, canoeing and sports activities.
These supplemental programs address athlete empowerment, health education and leadership opportunities - all provided with the goal of helping participating athletes improve their life skills, confidence, motivation and self-esteem.
