Event Procedures
Awards & Special Events
The following procedures should be followed when taking an individual athlete or team to receive awards.
Individual Events
- Generally awards are to be picked up immediately following the event
- Team volunteers are responsible for picking up athletes at the designated awards exit
- All athletes must be picked up by a credentialed individual
Team Events
- Awards are given at the conclusion of all games within a division. Award schedules will be provided for each division at the event
- The entire team must report to the awards area at the designated time
Team Volunteers are responsible for athletes for the duration of a competition. When athletes are not competing, it is essential that volunteers encourage participation in Special Events.
Special Events
- Opening Ceremonies encourage athletes to celebrate together
- Olympic Village provides fun and educational activities for athletes during down times at events
- Healthy Athletes provides screenings and education in health-related fields such as optometry, dental, hearing, and podiatry
