The Structure of Special Olympics Delaware
Team Volunteer
The roles and responsibilities of a team volunteer:
- Complete any and all administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach or Program Director
- Spend the entire event with his/her program
- Know all event procedures and assist with the following when the Team Volunteer is needed:
- Problem solving relevant to coaches and athletes
- Ensure proper medication distribution and handling of any medical issues
- Security issues
- Administrative Duties
- Chaperone athletes to ensure appropriate supervision of all athletes for the duration of the event
- This includes non-sport related issues such as getting athletes to staging on-time, assisting with bathroom breaks, taking athletes to Olympic Village and special events, and picking up athletes at awards at the appropriate time
