The SODE Summer Camp Golf Classic (formerly the SODE Golf Classic) is an annual tournament held at Hartefeld National Golf Club that not only offers participants the chance to play one of the finest golf courses in the area, but also features the opportunity for each foursome to play several holes with a Special Olympics Delaware golfer – an aspect many of the players say is the tournament highlight!
Money raised from this tournament allows athletes to attend, free of charge, two summer camps held annually at Camp Barnes, located near Bethany Beach.

The tournament benefits the two annual SODE Summer Camps at Camp Barnes. Over 150 athletes attend the three-day, two-night camps offered in either July or August, and experience all the fun of a summer camp, including canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sports and much, much more.
At the tournament, golfers have the special opportunity to sponsor an individual athlete to attend camp, giving that person a true summer camp experience.
In addition, during the tournament each foursome is afforded the opportunity to play three holes with a Special Olympics golfer. And yes, their shots count ... and are often needed!
The 2010 tournament raised $37,000. Since its inception in 2001, over $514,000 has been raised from this golf tournament.
