The Delaware National Guard Plane Pull pits teams of 20 against a C-130 aircraft in a battle of strength, stamina and fun! Teams of 20 compete against each other to see who can pull the C-130 aircraft 12 feet in the fastest time - and that’s no easy task, because a C-130 weighs 100,000 pounds, is 97 feet long, has a wing span of 132 feet, and stands 38 feet high!
The 2012 Plane Pull is Sunday, May 6.
Delaware Air National Guard Base, New Castle Directions
The Plane Pull is a great event for high school organizations and sports teams, civic groups, businesses, clubs, military personnel and churches to come together to support Special Olympics. In order to participate, high school teams pay a $500 entry fee, while all other teams pay $750.
Plane Pull tips and incentives
We also encourage teams to raise money above and beyond the entrance fee, and have created incentives for those teams that do. One of the easiest ways to do this is to create a team fundraising page at Firstgiving. This enables friends and family to support your team's efforts by donating money on a safe and secure website with just a few clicks of the mouse. Click here to create your team's Firstgiving page.
Thirty-one teams raised over $30,000 in 2011.
Since the inaugural pull in 1995, 344 teams have participated and raised over $250,000 for Special Olympics Delaware!
